I'm quite fascinated that I've knitted such fab skirt in fact. It is possibly The perfect beach skirt.
The kids wanted to contribute, when shooting some pics of the finished knitting project for the blog.
Aren't they cute? (Uh, I desperately need a hair cut, hair looks crap.)
Leo, who was playing some Nintendo games at the time, seemed sincerely sad he missed out on the photo session. But he came with some valuable input how to use the skirt instead.
He: Mama, don't use it on the beach.
Me: why, I won't be swimming in it or something.
He: You can use it as your home skirt. Or, [bit fumblingly] you could use it when you leave us for school. It's not good if it gets dirty.
Ahh, I think that was just the best review ever. For more project details see here.
When we're not meeting up with people or going to the beach we prefer making long spontaneous promenades. Carrying sunhats, and a bag stuffed with some snacks and a huge bottle of water we normally manage to keep everyone in a sufficiently good mood.
As long as we are on the move things are kind of smooth. Occasionally however we dare to sit down at some outdoor café, even if we know that the famous ants in the pants will be there in no time. But at least as long as the drinks and ice creams are being indulged there's a little time to relax.
Good thing the place we visited this time wasn't particularly crowded this evening. It was in fact quite charming to watch the wild kids in action, knowing someone else would have to clean their possible messes. Ha ha, like if I could ever relax when they are going nuts. But anyways. Actually we managed to calm down the ants even longer this evening with a backgammon board.

It was a quiet afternoon. Walking through the old part of Limassol admiring the beauty and seeing all the potential. Our route included an old industrial area with some restored buildings like that fancy furnishing warehouse.
We also passed a mosque, many decaying houses, fancy restaurants and quirky boutiques. For a moment drooled outside a jazz club about to open for the evening. One day we should organize a baby sitter so me and husband can pay a visit there.

We drove to Ayia Napa to meet up with some vacationing friends from Stockholm. We mostly chilled out with them (as much as we could chasing our curious 2 year old) around their hotel area, on the east side. The kids had this years first dip in the turquoise sea. The interesting nature in this region seems somehow made for dryer climate, in full bloom this season however.
1. Neighbour's olive tree is a nice view.
2. Lavender for the lovely scent and to scare stray cats away.
3. A tiny fig tree for my love to figs.
4. We have some herb plats; basil, thyme and oregano. Looking for one more, perhaps coriander.
5. Souvlaki's rotating rythmically on the motor grill. Such cuties.
6. Cloudy sunset on Kourion beach.
I'm almost finished knitting a skirt that I will show you soon.

Sometimes we go to a nearby farmers market. It isn't always cheaper than on the supermarket and the quality is varying. But it's fun strolling around. We look at the seasonal products and chit chat with with the farmers. A good opportunity to practice some Greek.
It's easy to grab the iPhone camera and frankly not half as intimidating in public places as my Canon EOS 450D. But I really miss the better quality pictures and seriously consider bringing it with me more frequently.
