Cypriot Fish 'n' Chips

I improvised Fish 'n' Chips, like my father used to make it.

I learned the following:
  • Deep-fry the potatoes first.
  • It was good to deep-fry in rape oil on maximum temperature.
  • Use also egg in the codfish coating, not only flour, ground white pepper and salt.
  • It was right to squeeze some lemon on the fish to get the right cypriot touch.
Despite my shortcomings the result was pretty ok, quite close actually. Nice with cooked cauli flower, seasoned with salt, ground white pepper, olive oil and lemon. And an ice cold Heineken.
