a promenade to Limassol old town castle museum

Went for a walk some day in May to Limassol old town, heading to visit the Medieval Castle. Some 100 meters from our house is an area somehow not habited or neglected. Very central. It's an area that to some extent temporarily hosts refugees from the north side of Cyprus. Here and there you find local businesses and residences. Some houses seems abandoned. We chose this way along the newly built promenade path and captured this side of Limassol for you.

At the Medieval Castle we enjoyed the view from the roof top, beautiful ancient pottery (some originating from the mountain village Kyperounta, which is nearby my fathers birth village), bread stamps, coins, suits of armour and other signs of knights templars, other crusaiders and historical monuments.

Nice rounding up the medieval castle museum visit with some awesome ice cream at the towns best Gelateria at the castle square. Me, if I have ice cream for a change - cause I don't quite enjoy sweet stuff that much anymore - I go for their very special Masticha variety.
