The Cardigan

I think this time I've knit the most useful cardigan. It's in a basic colour, it's warm and soft. But what I love the most about it are the exaggerately long fronts; a funky twist on a classic design. Just my style. For more project detail read here.

I haven't used that necklace above too much. My daugther has a matching one. Perhaps I should, it is quite fun actually. They're from Kristina Klarin's mama & daugther collection. And I saw there's a similar collection in her shop currently called mama & baby, or something similar.

what the sea had left behind

On the last day of the kids Easter holiday we put sun lotion and hats on everyone and went to Lady's Miles to see what the sea had washed up the beach.

We found lovely traces of sea life. The beach was practically covered with sea shells. There where starfishes, sea snails, sea urchins and remains of seaweed.

Anthea collected a bucket full of sea shells, while Leo was mostly interested in the rare finds of the beach. Eddie was simply happy playing in the infinite sandbox.

I've been knitting on a cardigan that is soon off the needles. Just in time to stuff it in the winter clothes storage boxes.

Relaxing, while we could

When it's vacation and the air is a little warmer (and the smallest is asleep in his stroller) it's awesome with a relaxing lunch outdoors.

At the nicely renovated carob mill's restaurant's we had a glossy view over Limassol castle. And with plenty of space for playing around the castle the parents can chit chat just a few more minutes.

Vacation time

A fabulous timing when friends from Sweden needed a break right when we're enjoying a two week Easter holiday. We saw Kolossi and the old crusader castle there.

The Kolossi castle wasn't particularly crowded. A good thing, I guess, about sight seeing off season. The castle was also popular among our kids. Perhaps mostly because of the yard where they played some secret games.

If you visit Kolossi Castle, remember to keep an eye on the steps indoors as most of the stairs aren't that well protected.

At a nearby church some of us lit a few candles for our late greek/cypriot grandma and grandpa's. It had some fascinating old paintings on the walls and the roof.

While wandering around the area I was reminded about a nearby house we had been considering while house hunting. Being a city girl I'm happy though we ended up in the middle of Limassol town.

forty-three

It's not a joke. My hero has turned 43.
